First U.S. ed. of children's classic by award-winning author/illustrator; 40 p., not ex-lib., no former owner's name, beautiful color ill. without fading or age-toning ; however, there are small stains on first and last few pages--particularly the very last, where a black marker has effaced some bit of writing & dark smudge along top edge of paste-down; binding firm; dark blue boards with orange lettering somewhat rubbed and bumped in absence of d.j. ; slight "old book" smell--price reduced accordingly.
