N.p.: N.p., 1958. Vintage double weight narrow margin matte finish promotional press photograph of Henry Fonda and Anne Bancroft from the 1958 play, by photographer Howell Conant. Three "Two for the Seesaw," and one "Photo by Howell Conant" stamps on verso. "Two for the Seesaw" opened on January 16, 1958 at the Booth Theatre for a highly successful run of 750 performances, closing on October 31, 1959. The play was an unexpected hit, marking the debut of three exceptional talents, playwright William Gibson, actor Anne Bancroft, and director Arthur Penn (who was nominated for a Tony Award). The following year, the three would go on to write, star, and direct, respectively, the 1959 Tony Award winning play "The Miracle Worker," as well as subsequently adapting it for the 1962 Academy Award Winning film.
