Charles Scribner's Sons, 1938. Hardcover. Good/Poor. Later printing with the publisher seal but NOT the "A" on the copyright page. The volume is bumped on the spine has a touch of fraying on the crown, and the spine is rubbed and lightly sunned. The pastedowns and endpapers have areas of darkening, especially around the gutters, and the pages are lightly toned. The "dust jacket", which is slightly taller than the book, includes the rear panel and spine (which has a chipped crown, touching the lettering). There is a horizontal crease running through these remains. This is a book which would look good on a shelf. Probably best to leave it there.

Book very good, except for slight edgewear, slight staining near bottom and vertical edge of back, some discoloration on end-papers and last page. DJ good, with small pieces missing at top of spine, tail of spine, top of front flap, very small piece missing at near top corner of back, some twenty-five pieces of tape inside DJ, tearing and creasing along bends, small piece missing near bottom corner of front, slight scratching on back, slight discoloration on spine, flaps, and inside DJ. Housed in a custom-made collector's slipcase.
