GB: Hale, 1946. Not dated but about 1946. Pictorial DW in grey and yellow by Eric Fraser features a large pot with a number of characters from the book around it. DW is priced 7s 6d net but has a publisher's 4/6 net sticker over. The turquoise covers are still very bright but the book is cocked and the pages quite heavily browned. Some stamps from a circulating library and solicitor both of Nottingham. Book does not appear to have been much read. DW has slight edge loss and an inch triangle out bottom right of front cover removing the d of Marquand. It has internal restoration and is quite dust marked. However the main pictorial image on the front cover is reasonable clean and bright. . Hardback. Good/Good DW.

Book Condition: Very Good: A firm square copy with foxing to the cover cloth and inside cloth edges. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good: A three-quarter inch partially closed tear to the upper spine edge and minor chip, minor chips to corner tips. Not price-clipped. Boards exceptionally bright and clean. No inscriptions. Faint offsetting to both sets of end-papers otherwise a very nearly fine copy. The VG (or better) dustwrapper (designed by Barbosa) has a slither of loss to the head of the spine which is slightly faded and soiled. Still quite a nice copy. "Peking.
