A 28-page historical introduction by Matthes is followed by Guillen's diaries of two expeditions: "to the Guaycure Nation in the Californias...and the Great Bay of Santa Maria Magdalena on the Pacific Ocean," and "from the Mission of San Juan Malibat to the Bay of La Paz on the Gulf of California.
