A. Hart, Philadelphia, 1850. Acceptable. Although binding is intact, gutters are cracked; the last novel here, "Woodstock," is not complete, with pages after p. 140 (ch. XXXVII) missing. T.p., t.o.c., and front end page have large open tears. Black boards with blind-stamped design are much bumped and scraped, the cloth on the spine is abraded and what remains has holes due to some kind of biopredation. The remaining portions--the novels, Redgauntlet, St. Ronan's Well, Tales of the Crusaders(The Betrothed and The Talisman) are present in their entirety. Paper is of fine quality and strong, only very mildly age-toned though foxed. This venerable volume is being offered at a very low price so that it will find a good home with a kind bibliophile who will provide it with the binding it deserves..
