Scuffed. Book contains translated letters of Count de Pourtales who traveled down the Ohio and Mississipi rivers and overland into the center of Indian Territory in the autumn of 1832. The Count traveled with party leader Henry Leavitt Ellsworth, newly appointed Indian agent, Washington Irving, Charles Joseph Latrobe. de Pourtales was a Swiss youth who would later serve in the Prussian diplomatic service. Translated by Seymour Feiler.
