Description:
London: Faber and Faber,, 1929. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED by noted bibliophile Tom Turner to the author L.A.G. Strong at front end page - "To L.A.G. Strong, in token of friendship and with every good wish from Tom Turner 8 Mar 1936". Tom Turner befriended and regularly corresponded with several authors, notably L. A. G. Strong, whose "The Sacred River: An Approach to James Joyce" was dedicated to Turner. Very Good, lacking the dust wrapper, the paper covered boards with rubs and tears along fore edges. The 12 portraits feature Albert Einstein, T. S. Eliot, George Bernard Shaw, Walter De La Mare and John Galsworthy among other contemporary notables. A SCARCE book with a quite nice literary Association inscription. . SIGNED AND INSCRIBED. First Edition. Paper Covered Boards. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.
