Wear along joints and other extremities (some loss of paper or cloth, especially at cover corner and both ends of the backstrip). Other cover wear with waterspots on title label on front cover and backstrip. Endpapers split along hinges. Some foxing on first few pages. No jacket.

Annie wrote children's stories while Ida illustrated them. A charming fairy story bound in a checker patterned paper covered boards backed in green cloth, paper labels to upper board and spine, some edge wear and rubbing to boards, some occasional scattered foxing, front inner hinge repaired after half-title. A very good copy of the First American edition published the same year as the first British edition. No American editions at auction and only three copies via OCLC.[Baumgarten, p. 168].
