The book is in generally good condition, with minor adhesive tape residue at top and bottom edges of each cover, front free endpaper missing, lightly rubbed spine ends and corners, sound text block, good hinges, clean pages with no names or other markings. [6], 7-254, [1] (page of publisher's advertisement), [1] pp. Blue cloth with gold lettering on the spine; grey topstain. Price of 45s net on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with three maps. Woodward's history of how Russia built their navy and modernized their naval fleet. Woodward explains that their naval capabilities proved important in the Crimean War, in the conflict between Japan and Russia, and in both the world wars, even though Russia has no great stretch of coastline. A nice copy. A Near Fine book with a bit of bumping to the bottom corners; jacket is close to Fine.
