New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1934. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. 461pp. Illustrated with black and white plates. Slightly bowed with some rubbing on the boards else very good; C.K. Berryman's copy with his bookplate on the front pastedown. Berryman was a noted political cartoonist for the *Washington Star* and the *Washington Post* respectfully. In 1944 he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his cartoon "Where is the Boat Going," depicting F.D.R. and his advisors trying to maneuver the *USS Mississippi* in different directions. Another famous cartoon, "Drawing the Line in Mississippi," shows Roosevelt taking pity on a bear cub and was the origin for the idea of the Teddy Bear. He was also the first cartoonist to gain admission into the Gridiron Club and would later become president of the organization.
