Wear, chipping to the spine ends. Corners are worn with the boards showing. Missing front free endpaper. Leaves 111-112 and 113-114 have evidence of an old drip which caused those pages to stick together and there is now some text missing to a few lines on each page. Illustration facing page 114 is missing the lower corner, not affecting the image. Former owner name and date to a couple of blanks. Text somewhat shaken. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 397 pages .

First several pages have tears and holes (possibly insect damage) along side edge. Pages have spotting or foxing. Second page has a large water stain, and title page has some stains. Name of a previous owner is written at top of title page (has a date of 1885). Pages containing the list of illustrations and the folding map are loose. Pages have some tanning. Book is in acceptable condition. 451 pages plus ads for books in back, 2.6 lb.; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 451 pages .
