Sm. 8vo., Third Edition, text in English, with folding coloured map as frontispiece, and numerous coloured and tinted maps and plans (a number folding or double-page), contemporary surname on front free endpaper; original series binding of grained red cloth, upper board framed in blind and lettered in gilt, gilt back, radial corners, marbled edges, primrose endpapers, silk marker, joints mildly rubbed else a good, clean copy. With series catalogue on front free endpapers; the folding maps and plans are on japon. Compiled and written by J.F. Muirhead, Baedeker's Canada was first published in 1894. This edition sees the first mention of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway (incorporated in 1903 but to date partly constructed; the section on Alaska has been enlarged from the previous edition.
