Description:
[San Francisco]: Beach Books, Texts & Documents, 1968. First Edition. Saddle stapled printed wraps. Good+. 4to. (8-1/2 x 11). Pp. [16]. Black & white photo portrait. Kraft paper wraps and leaves saddle stapled, titles printed in black. Title page signed and inscribed in black felt pen "First manuscript & working draft (see Planet News for final form) for Walter Hall 1982." Mellowed creases and light crimps, a very short closed tear into the fore-edge. First printing. Facsimile of the typewritten first draft with handwritten revisions of what had been published as "Television Was a Baby Crawling Toward That Death Chamber" the previous year. Followed by a facsimile of Ginsberg's cover letter to Mary Beach & Claude Pelieu describing the revisions and versions of the poem.Now preserved in a clear archival sleeve with acid-free backing.
