Moderate water staining, foxing and tanning to pages; text unaffected. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges, exposing netting and causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with moderate staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft splitting, fraying and crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Hinges rubbed, upper board and backstrip sunned, internally a fine copy with prize book plate of the Royal Masonic School on front pastedown. § A nice little edition of Addison' essays in a prize binding created for the Royal Masonic School for Boys with the school crest and Masonic motto, Audi Vide Tace (Hear, See, Be Silent), on the upper board. The bookplate inside records that the book was given to one H. Booth, Midsummer 1907, for "school work".
