Small book, brown cloth, on spine in very good gilt: "School District Library No. 85," and at spine bottom, "The Spectator, Volume 2." 316 pages. Inside covers and adjacent end papers lightly foxed. Very slight wear to spine edges, three tiny light brown spots on back, light wear to tips. Very Good.

Nea York: William Durell & Co., 1811. Full leather covers the leather spine is missing.The binding looks like jute is cracking at the hinge.The previous carefull owners signature is on the top of first page of" The Tattler" in a fine hand and dated March 1813. Edges may have been marbled some foxing throughout.The binding seems quite strong enought to last another couple of hundred years or so.This is Volume II only. First Thus. Full Leather (Morroco). Good to Fair/None Given. 4 1/2" By 7 1/4" Tall.

Will need repairing or rebinding, and priced as such .

The Spectator was a daily publication founded by Joseph Addison and Richard Steele in 1711-12. These papers were eventually collected into seven volumes. The Spectator was revived in 1714 but withour the involvement of Steele and these papers were eventually collected in an eighth and last volume.
