Pp. 230, frontispiece; cr. 8vo; olive green cloth, spine lettered in orange, the boards slightly canted, edges a trifle rubbed; dust wrapper, faintly soiled, the front panel slightly silverfished, edges and backstrip lightly rubbed and browned; bookplate of Benjamin Tindale on upper pastedown, edges of leaves lightly foxed; Readers Union, London, 1946. Book Club Edition. *Selections from James Agate's diaries and letters, which were published in nine Ego volumes in from 1935 to 1948. This selection was first published by George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd., in 1945. James Agate (1877-1947) was theatre critic for The Sunday Times from 1923 to 1947 and the BBC from 1925 to 1932.
