About This Item
New York: The Bowling Green Press, 1927. No dustwrapper (originally would have had a glassine wrapper, a bit like grease-proof paper), minor bumping so spine ends and corners of brown paper-covered boards with some chipping to same at edges of spine. Some loss to edges of red leather title label on spine, but gilt title thereon is still complete and clear. Otherwise a good, internally clean and tight copy of this slim hard-cover book, a one-act play by the author of "The Brook Kerith". The play, set in London in 1599 just after a performance of Shakespeare's Richard II, involves Shakespeare, Burbage and others waiting to meet Queen Elizabeth. Number 177 of 1240 copies, signed by the author. 59pp.. Signed by Author. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
