Macmillan & Co, 1912. First edition, first printing. 8vo. Red boards with gilt decoration. Gilt topedge. A near fine/fine copy with clean boards and bright gilt. Light wear only and no marks of note. Internally very clean with no inscriptions. Small mark to gutter hinge of titlepage o/w fresh. Endpapers original and unsplit. A truly wonderful copy. Philip Haldane builds a play city out of odds and ends that comes to life. Friends get trapped with Nurse tears the city down. The Deliverer must perform seven valorous deeds opposed by the Pretenderette, a strange veiled woman who wants to be Queen and that is just the beginning.
