About Item: Painting. Near Fine. Unframed. This is an original botanical watercolour painting of a Lilium 'Stargazer' painted by Lorna B. Kell. The dimensions are 385 x 570mm. "Lorna Beatrice Kell born in London 1914. Painter of still life and abstracts, printmaker and textile designer. She studied at Hornsey School of Art, 1930-3, her teachers including Russell Reeve, Frank Winter and Norman Janes. She joined Henry Lorraine Kell shortly after he began Lorraine Designs in 1935, married him and became sole proprietor in 1956. The firm specialised in commemorative scarves for Liberty of London, the Oxford Collection and others. Kell was elected to the Society of Graphic Artists in 1959, (an artist of repute, Kell, was President for eleven years.
