About Item: Washington: The Secretary of Agriculture, Government Printing Office, 1893. Original. Unbound. Very Good. A very attractive and somewhat scarce chromolithographed plate from The Hawks and Owls of the United States in Their Relation to Agriculture (U.S. Department of Agriculture Division of Ornithology and Mammalogy Bulletin No. 3) by A. K. Fisher and C. Hart Merriam. These were taken from a disintegrating book in order to preserve the plates (I discourage taking books apart for the illustrations unless there is no way to salvage the book). Page size is slightly smaller than 6 by 9 inches (14.5 x 22.5 cm). Generally the condition of the plates varies as there was some water damage to the book. This plate's condition is: Very Good. Light water stain to lower left corner. Overall there is some edgewear to the paper.
