Abridged from the 1838 London Ed. Beautiful aqua colored covers, gold gilt title and decoration on spine and blind decorations on front and back boards. Past owner has made a number of pencil markings under passages that have either delighted or offended the reader. This is not distracting and indeed interesting as to what a person of the time thought of Tahitian society. O'Reilly, p.673.
