(11pp), 616pp. Color frontispiece, numerous full-page plates (some color), small line drawings, decorative endpapers. Near fine. Superb and tight 60th volume in the "New Series," being the 17th volume of this annual anthology of prose and poems on a wide variety of topics, entirely in German. Title translation: "Daughter Album: Conversations in the Domestic Circle for the Formation of the Heart and Mind of the Adolescent Female Youth." Gumpert (1810-97) was an influential German children's writer and this her best-known work, the first volume of which was published in 1855. A quite handsome copy, with miniscule 1915 ownership signature on front flyleaf dating it to the period of the foreword (dated 1914).
