Beige cloth over boards, title stamped in gilt onto spine, color illustrated paste-down onto upper board, large 8vo (9-5/16 inches tall), pp. 131, ads, all edges trimmed and stained blue, colour illustrated end papers, Volume about fine with spine ends softened and lightest tap to one corner. Slipcase showing some wear with small cracks, bumps to corners and a small abrasion to paste-down. With the colour illustrated paste-down onto the top of the publishers tan slipcase, as issued and the water-color illustrations by Wesley Dennis. This copy is the Rogers-Kellogg-Stillson, Inc. variant printing of the first illustrated edition. Filmed in 1949 using the same title and the screenplay written by Steinbeck. Ref.
