This is a Very Good Plus copy of the First American Edition; originally serialized, this publication protected the copyright. Brown cloth binding, stamped in the blind; gilt lettering on the spine. Bumped with some wear at the margins. Small stain on the fore-edge. Very clean and fresh text; 579 pages, with two pages of publisher's adverts in the rear, including "The Standard Female Novelists." Penciled previous-owner name on the FFEP. Stowe's works were very popular but have tended to not survive in good condition; this copy is the exception, quite respectable.
