Embossed gold lettered Hebrew title printed on red background on front board and spine. Some loss of red on spine title and front board. Hardbound. Limited edition of only 500 copies. This is number 413 and signed by Ben Shahn, the artist. "The Alphabet of Creation" is one of the legends from the "Sefer Ha-Zohar" an ancient Gnostic work written in Aramaic by a thirteenth century Spanish scholar named Moses de Leon who presented the work, not as his own, but as mystic knowledge revealed many centuries earlier to the Rabbi Simeon ben Yohai.
