Light orange cloth boards with tips and spine of reddidh-brown leather. Five raised bands with gilt titling and decorations on the spine. Clean text; 380 pages, with a 24-page catalog in the rear. Top edge is gilt. Illustrations by Samuel Lover. Textblock has some stains and spots but remains perfectly readable. New endpapers; with a small bookseller label [McDevitt-Wilson's Books] on the rear paste-down. Contemporary (1844) signature from a previous-owner on an original endpaper. Tipped-in is an Autograph Letter SIGNED by Samuel Lover. Light rubbing to the margins; else a Fine copy. In an archival plastic protector.. Signed by Author. First American Edition.. Quarter-Bound.
