Illustrated endpapers. Back cover contains a brief biography of the illustrator. This is a reprint. The original was first published in 1920. Arthur Rackham (1867 - 1939) was an innovative book illustrator, often combining pen and ink drawings with watercolor. Rackham's work remains highly collectible. From back cover: "This entrancing work contains both color and black silhouette drawings, and these decorate every page of C.S. Evan's appealing text." Bumped and worn corners and head and heel of spine. There is a quarter inch tear at top of front pastedown and book is shaken. Top corner of pages are bumped.
