Inscribed by Copy of Nelson Dingley Jr. 1832-99. 16mo. pp. xi, [1], 239, 63 Ads. Very Good/No jacket, as issued. Repaired caps and corners, foxing starting within, tight copy. The second revised edition of 1835 was entirely rewritten and revised, making the first an uncorrected proof. Outstanding as one of the great 19th century works of political economy (see Mises Institute Article of 4/21/22). Wayland was President of Brown University, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Providence and an economist. Named in his honor, Wayland Seminary in D. C. was established in 1867 to educate former slaves..
