No dust jacket. From preface: "This book is an account of (the author's) detention... He was the editor of the Alger Republicain...banned in ...1955...arrested by paratroops (in June 1957) who kept him (in detention) for a whole month." Last page of the book is a reproduction of a letter signed by Sartre and others protesting against the seizure of Alleg's book. Edgewear; some tanning to inner seam of endpapers/inside covers from the adhesive used in the production process; owner's embossed stamp on fep and address label on rep.
