About Item: New York: Harper & Row, 1974. Later printing. Hardcover. First edition, an early printing, most likely either the second or third printing. The jacket price is $8.95 (as opposed to $7.95 on the first printing); jacket flap has the 1174 slug, ads for The Giving Tree on rear flap, and the poem on p. 50 is titled "The Gypsies Are Coming". These points indicate this is an early issue and probably printed within a couple years of the first printing. Book has a slight scuff on the inside front pastedown where a bookplate was removed; otherwise fine in a fine dustjacket. AN ATTRACTIVE EARLY VINTAGE PRINTING OF THIS CHILDREN'S CLASSIC!
