New York: Daniel Fanshaw, 1845. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. 12mo. 287pp. Frontispiece portrait. Brown cloth spine elaborately gilt. Owner's name ("William H. Bogart. Sept. 8, 1845. Aurora"), large but light dampstain in the text, boards bright, a very good copy. Thorburn wrote under the name Lawrie Todd, and was the inspiration for John Galt's *Lawrie Todd,* the first novel to use Rochester, New York, as its setting.
