And a table of losses from 1830, together with valuable statistics of the fisheries, also notable fares, narrow escapes, startling adventures, fishermen's off-hand sketches, ballads, descriptions of fishing trips..." All contained in a period package featuring vintage ads for Gloucester and waterfront businesses, and lively woodcut illustrations. This is one of the essential books on the fisheries. A very good copy of the first edition, clean and bright, in original decorated boards.
