London: John Murray, Albemarle Street, W., 1935. First Edition (& 1st printing). Octavo, original red cloth stamped in gold. [320] pp. INSCRIBED PRESENTATION COPY, Inscribed by the author on his heraldic bookplate affixed to the inner front cover: "To Mrs. Tatersall with all best wishes for Happy Xmas from P.C. Wren". Loosely laid in a the publisher's 4 pp advertising brochure "THE WORKS OF P.C. WREN", advertising 23 titles by Wren - the most recent being SPANISH MAINE - with his photographic portrait on the upper cover. A touch of light scattered foxing to page edges, top edges a bit dusty but overall a fine, bright copy in a fine bright dust jacket with one light crease to front panel, faintly browned along the spine panel, price corner (7s. 6d. net) intact. A wonderful copy. ¶ French Foreign Legion adventure novel, a sequel of sorts to BEAU IDEAL.
