Publication date not given; however bookplate stamp on inside front cover is dated May,1908. That is the only mark on the pages that we found. The only tear is a small tear at the bottom corner of the end fly-leaf page. Pages are gilt edged.Cover has some minor fading and shelf wear, particularly along spine. However front cover illustration remains clear with vibrant colors. T

This is a very scarce and near perfect book for collectors of Dickens obviously, but it is also for collectors of fine illustrations, especially for anyone who appreciates the unique beauty of multi coloured chromolithography. This is a clean and tight copy of a book that is too often assigned to the 'breakers'. Each illustration is still vivid after all these years, simply because of the expensive and unique quality of the fine chromolithography. Also, this copy is in the sort of condition one might reasonably expect for such an old book. The fabulous illustrations are as rich and lustrous today as they must have been when this book was published. Unfortunately there is no date that I can find, but I am pretty certain this is a First Edition, First Impression, because the printing is so vivid.
