This copy is marked "Publisher's Copy" and inscribed by the publisher to California historian Richard Pourade opposite the limitation page. Ardis M. Walker, a grandnephew of Joseph Reddeford Walker, the Mountain Man for whom Walker Pass is named, tells a panoramic story of the Kern River country and its historical evolution. From the James S. Copley Library, with the San Diego newspaper publisher and philanthropist's bookplate to the front pastedown and a presentation label from Pourade on the front flyleaf. Octavo. Original gray cloth binding, with pictorial black stamping. Some general minor browning and wear along the extremities of the dust jacket; otherwise a very good copy. Signed by Author.
