Illustrated with seven additional black & white photo reproductions on floral backgrounds. Preface by Edmond S. Meany. Multicolor floral print cloth, titles printed in reversed black on morocco label mounted in blind stamped panel on the cover, deckled fore-edge, hand sewn signatures, decorated chapter heads, title page hand colored. Board edges minimally rubbed and soiled. Life of a pioneer who arrived in Olympia, Washington Territory in 1869 at age 18 with her father Elisha Peyre Ferry who was appointed Surveyor General then first Governor by President Grant. She married businessman John Leary in 1891 and moved to Seattle where she was active in pubic affairs. Very much a Frank McCaffrey production.
