Paris: E. Tériade, 1939. First Edition. Paperback. Very Good. Paris, E. Tériade, 1939. Large quarto, 140 pages with numerous illustrations, many in colour (complete with the original lithographs by Matisse and Derain, but - curiously - lacking pages 41 to 44: 'The Book of the Hunt by Gaston Phébus, Comte de Foix, Fifteenth Century. Twelve Hunting Scenes'). Flush-cut card covers (featuring a wrap-around design by Georges Rouault); spine a little rubbed, with a few horizontal cracks and short splits at each end of the front joint; stitching a little loose; trifling signs of use and age; a very good copy.
