FIRST EDITION 1683, folio, 295 x 180 mm, 11¾ x 7½ inches, engraved portrait frontispiece by Robert White, title page printed red and black, decorative wood-cut headpieces and initials, pages: [20], including Errata, 1-372, lacking final advertisement leaf, bound in modern full panelled speckled calf with blind decoration to covers, gilt raised bands to spine, richly gilt in compartments, gilt lettered red morocco label, edges speckled red, new endpapers. Upper margins slightly trimmed at some time, no loss to printed area, faintest browning to title page offset from portrait, tiny hole in margin of page 105, not affecting text, 2 tiny neat old repairs to fore-edge of page 337, not near text, occasional tiny brown spot. A very good clean sturdy attractive copy in a handsome modern binding, lacking 1 advert leaf as noted.
