(Wilson, A26a). Gertrude Stein (1874-1946) was an American poet, novelist, and playwright. She lived in Nazi-occupied France during World War II, surviving with the help of Vichy government leaders and Nazi collaborators. This novel was limited to 1,000 printings, with only 200 released for sale. A scarce work in very good condition.
