Born in London, he was the son of Sir Francis Milman, 1st Baronet, physician to King George III. A successful student, he went on to become Professor of Poetry at Oxford university. He later worked his way up through the ranks of religious order, to become the Dean of St Paul's Cathedral. Milman died in 1868, and is buried at St Paul's Cathedral. Bound by Charles Murton. Some minor spots and minor darkening to title pages, a few mild foxing spots to pages of “Fall of Jerusalem,” else inside pages all very clean and tight throughout. Else a stunning copy. Two volumes in one. 368 & 167pp. Author was Dean of Saint Paul’s Cathedral, London, and son of Sir Francis Milman, physician to King George III. He wrote a number of verse dramas. This one is based on the history of Saint Margaret an early Christian martyr.
