New York: Architectural Book Publishing Company, Inc., 1951. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Fair/Poor. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Edwin B. Lancaster, A.I.A.. Quarto. 196 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in red cloth and with the remains of a green and white dust jacket. The jacket is extremely worn with half of the spine missing and with several large tears and chips; some tears repaired with old tape). Front panel of the jacket is stamped at the lower fore edge, and this affects the first pages of the book. The book is sound with secure inner hinges. Endpapers toned and foxed, and the text is toned. INSCRIBED by the author on the front flyleaf, "This book is inscribed for Mrs. A. S. Mitchell whose superb mansion featured on pages 167-8 is one of the most magnificent Ante-Bellum Show-Places of the entire South. / Warmest personal greetings of the author, / Ralph Hammond.
