Description:
In very good condition, especially considering its age. Spine is square and solid, with no creases. Minor chipping around the edges. 214 pages are all clean, tight and intact. Originally published in 1931. Although the latest date on the copyright page is 1968, the cover celebrates this as a special 50th Anniversary Edition, it is likely this particular book was published in either 1979 (50 years after the first Ellery Queen novel), or 1981 (50 years after first publication of this novel). A murder of a wealthy philanthropist while in the pre-op area of a hospital, by strangulation, just about stumps Ellery Queen, until a second masterful murder gives him a much-needed clue. This book is somewhat rare. My price is at the low end, especially for one in this great condition.
