Hardcover. Good. G.P.O. 1889 hardcover, with original green cover and gilt decoration and lettering. Cover shows fairly minor edgewear and bumped corners. Pages clean. Binding sound, with a small gouge and scratch mark on the upper part of the binding.

Tenth Annual Report of the Bureau of Ethnology to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution 1888-89, John Wesley Powell, Government Printing Office, Washington D.C., 1893, 11.5 x 8.5 inches, 822 pp. Dark olive green boards with gilt stamped illustration of an Indigenous person in a feathered headdress to front, gilt stamped lettering to spine, and blind stamped border to front and back boards. Spine and all corners bumped, moderately rubbed; light scuffing to front and back boards; top edge of text block and endpapers lightly foxed. Good condition. The United States Congress established the Bureau of Ethnology in 1879.
