Jacket spine a bit sunned, some edgewear, thumb soiling, and a few chips, cloth spine a bit sunned, , previous owner's signature on front free endpaper. Simon and Schuster, New York, 1968. First edition of Portis' classic work, basis for the 1969 John Wayne film and the 2010 Coen Brothers film starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. Condition Good to Very Good.

Description:
First Edition/Stated First Printing; A Near Fine book in a Near Fine dust jacket. SIGNED and dated by the author directly to the title page. An outstanding copy of this classic work, basis for the two fine film adaptations; quite scarce signed, particularly flatsigned. This copy is in near fine condition with a square, tight binding (probably unread), bright orange and gold spine lettering over blue boards, and clean pages throughout with only a hint of age-toning; the book does show some light rubbing and sunning to the board edges, mild fading to the top stain, and a couple areas of faint soiling to the boards. Housed in a crisp and bright near fine jacket that shows some fading to the spine (common for the title), some light rubbing and chipping to the spine ends and edges, one small closed tear to the bottom of the front flap, and some light creasing with one tiny chip to the bottom of the front panel.
