Description:
Yokohama, Japan: Tokyo-News Co., 1959. 1st . Hardcover. Good/Dust Jacket Included. First printing, revised edition, much expanded from the first edition. 144 pp., profusely ill. with b&w photos, some color plates, oversize (4to) hardcover, dustjacket. Text is Nearly Fine with neat owner's name and date (1961) inside cover, very light wear to extremities, no tears, no soiling. Dj is 99% present, but quite edge-worn with a half-inch square chunk missing from the rear panel near the top of the spine, and a number of tears, the largest about 2", some tape-repaired from the inside. An respectable copy of this important early karate book. Great step-by-step photo sequences. Excellent photos of Oyama's students training. Includes a number of photos of the master's famous battle to the death with a bull. Very hard to find in the fragile dust jacket. Photos available.
