Morris, "Builders of the Young Republic" by Edward Pessen, "Labor in the Industrial Era" by David Montgomery, "Workers of a New Century" by Philip Taft, "Americans in Depression and War" by Irving Bernstein, and "Unions and Rights in the Space Age" by Jack Barbash. Secretary of Labor W. J. Usery, Jr., wrote the epilogue. Each chapter is accompanied by a picture essay.
