San Francisco: W.K. Vickery, 1894. 1st. Paperback. First Edition. 4to. 2 text leaves & 16 leaves of mounted tissue paper with images of Monterey Peninsula scenes and letterpress descriptions, with red initials; each tissue shows a large and small image. All edges gilt. Laid in to decorative cloth box. Subtitle on front of box: Memories of old Monterey. The corner tip of one image is loose else leaves are in fine condition. The box flaps are torn at the corners with some splitting along edges; the upper edge flap is missing. These 19th century images include: 17 Mile Drive; The Hotel Del Monte; Pint Pinos Lighthouse; Point Lobos; Mission Carmel; Pacific Grove; Chinatown, Monterey; the Old Customs House, Monterey; and many more.
