Original stapled wrappers. 3 facsimiles, one of which is the full centerfold spread. A nice copy with only light toning to the covers. An interesting inquiry by the noted bibliographer and book historian into the earliest uses and successes of woodcut initials and decorations. Uncommon.

'The First Printing Press in British Columbia' is inscribed on half-title page: To Warren, my friend and colleague, Jake, 9/27/58.' From Jake Zeitlin to Warren Howell.
