After leaving the Weather Bureau in 1913, he became Professor of Meteorology at Harvard and Director of the Blue Hill Observatory.He married an Albemarle County woman, (Mary Randolph Brown of Edgehill, a descendent of Thomas Jefferson), and is buried in Charlottesville
